Tip: write the newsletter a few months before you plan to publish. Write the stuff you aspire to have accomplished by the publish date, and then work backwards.

Audiences

We’re mostly preaching to the choir here; people who are already interested in Peels and/or community composting. They don’t need convincing about how great composting is or important diverting food scraps from landfill is. They can however be valuable partners in continuing to spread the word about Peels so more folks join as hosts and donors. Repetition is key.

Technical

  1. Supabase users who have opted-in to the newsletter, either on sign up or later on in their profile settings. Sent via an edge function (via Resend’s basic email sending API, looping through the users with the is_newsletter_subscribed column value TRUE.
  2. Council folks, waste educators, and similar. Sent via a Resend audience. Also via an edge function (this time directly through Resend’s broadcasts API)
